Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles standout, has made his author debut with his first children’s book: “Better Than A Touchdown.”
The book tells the story of a young boy named Jalen, who harbors big dreams of joining his school football team. As People reports, Jalen and his friends must figure out a way to save the team after Jalen learns it has been cut.
A press release writes, “Better than a Touchdown is a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.”
The inspirational book carries a takeway message for it’s readers – “by working together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”
“It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own children’s book and I’m blessed to say that dream has now become a reality with Better Than a Touchdown,” Hurts said.
Jalen added, “Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve brought into my adult life were passed down to me during childhood, like the importance of doing something bigger than yourself.” He continued, “I’m excited to share some of that wisdom with a new generation of kids in Better Than a Touchdown. I hope this book strikes a chord of resilience, encourages self-belief, and resonates with not only kids, but teachers, mentors, and parents!”
The book is available for preorder on Penguin Random House for $19.99 and is scheduled for release on March 10, 2026.
Hurts won Super Bowl 59 and Super Bowl MVP in February and revealed in April to Men’s Health that he had married longtime girlfriend Bry Burrows. The couple celebrated their marriage in style in early June and, on June 23, Hurts announced the release of his first children’s book.
