Questlove, Grammy-winning hip-hop drummer and Oscar-winning filmmaker, will be honored by New York’s City Parks Foundation with the SummerStage Icon Award at its annual fundraiser.
The City Parks Foundation, in partnerhsip Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage Festival, “provides free arts and cultural programs to New Yorkers and helps bring public spaces to life (CPF describes its ethos as “thriving parks mean thriving communities.”
Heather Lubov, Executive Director of City Parks Foundation, released a statement lauding Questlove for his immense accomplishments.
“We are excited to announce Questlove and BSE as this year’s honorees for the annual City Parks Foundation benefit,” Lubov said. “Questlove is a true polymath. His contributions to music and culture are groundbreaking and visionary, perfectly reflecting the spirit of our SummerStage Icon Award.
“At the same time, we are proud to honor the outstanding work of BSE, a long-time partner and supporter of City Parks Foundation,” she continued. “People & Parks Award recognizes the company’s deep commitment to uplifting its home borough of Brooklyn by promoting the use of neighborhood parks for health and wellness, and especially by supporting youth sports.”
The gala affair Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 6:30 pm: Cocktail Reception & Dinner, and at 8:30 pm: Awards Ceremony & Dance Party at SummerStage in Central Park, Rumsey Playfield.
