K. Michelle is truly about her country music.
The singer teased a few songs from her upcoming country album. Michelle can be heard singing over a ballad from the album in a minute-long audio clip. “I ain’t perfect, I still drank some when I’m hurting / I got my own type of worship / I don’t fall down on my knees, but I still believe / That God’s got my back and I got His / It might not be how Mom thought I’d live / I need Saturday night, just like Sunday mornings…”
The song is called “Jesus and Whiskey,” and received great reviews. In the caption of her post, she wrote, “I still believe that God’s got my back. Just writing and singing my life, hope y’all enjoy this snippet from my new album.” Fans began to flood her comment section, stating how much they love the song or how they can’t wait for the upcoming album.
One user said that she sounds like “A Black Dolly Patron.” While another user said, “You are country music, you have the perfect tone and voice for this!”
This comes after K. Michelle was trolled by a social media user after Beyoncé announced that she was releasing a country album as well.
